Country House in Algarinejo
Description
A GENUINE COUNTRY CORTIJO FOR SALE - DIRECT FROM THE OWNER ! This large cortijo is in fine structural repair and full of original features. It does need modernisation
but at this price , it is a great bargain and has loads of potential for a rural tourism business.
"El Castillejo" is a detached Cortigo positioned in the most stunning location, perched on the saddle of a hill in a 1500 square metre plot, outside the small Andalucian town of Algarinejo, and about an hour north west of the international airport at Granada. Away from the tourist spots this is the true rural Andalucia. It is set amidst olive groves and almond trees and has its own water supply from a new bore hole .
The Cortigo needs renovation and the potential is enormous. It is not a ruin - anything but, although this substantial detached property would benefit from updating and renovation. It is already a sizeable property with six rooms upstairs and six downstairs as well as a bread oven outside the main property and its own cave!!
Raphael and Pepa are the landowners of all the surrounding olive groves and land adjacent to the Cortijo. They keep an eye on the property and currently take care of the olive trees at El Castillejo. The town of Algarinejo provides most of our needs with the usual shops, bars and restaurant associated with a small rural Andalucian town.
"El Castillejo" is a world away from the rush of everyday UK life and is an ideal retreat for those that want to get away from it all in a fabulous location. For the more adventurous, the surrounding hills provide ample challenge, with a walking route and a waterfall route close by.
Here are a few facts and figures about the property
Access : Track runs 1.3km off main road (A4154 Algarinejo-Las Vinas road) to the house. Condition is mostly OK, but typically with cortijo access, in high rain is best accessed by 4x4's only.
Utilities :
Water :-
new bore-hole, 30m deep. approx 20m full of water. Extraction with pump - fitted - using power from generator. Pipes from bore-hole arrive just outside cortijo. No pipes fitted in house.
Electricity :- There is no electricity suppy to the property at the moment, but there are electric cables on the hill next to the property., so connect to the main grid is feasible , although there is a cost involved. Solar panels and back up generator would also be a feasible alternative.
The property is fully registered and legal.
